Rick, though you and the family have suffered such a tragic loss in the death of Mary. It was truly wonderful to see you engage as you, and as Mary would have had she been physichally present, with the huhdreds of mourners at the celebration of her going to be with the Lord. You were consoling others. You were hugging other. You were saying encouraging words. You were doing what you and Mary have done for years...serveing others in the time of their need. Masy God bless you in a very special way as you continue to celebrate Mary and our loving Jesus. Chambliss and Jimmy

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”. From an early age, Mary was a peacemaker. For my 12th birthday, she had bought me a baby chick. She loved birds and thought I would too. My mom wasn’t thrilled with the idea so Mary swallowed her pride and didn’t bring it to my house. Mary had called my mother first and explained her gift. It doesn’t sound like much, but my Mom was very strict and unpredictable. Mary averted a major war at my house over the chick by her considerate phone call. Mary never wanted any trouble. It was Peace at all costs and that birthday gift was shelved. But her generous intentions were never forgotten

Mary and I grew up together and at one time she lived right up the street. Mary was one of my nicest childhood friends. We went to grammar school and to an all-girls high school. She was my geometry tutor in high school. She had the patience of a saint. She showed me various ways to remember the theorems. As a stress relief, Mary’s parents took us to the dances at the all-boys military academy.

I am saddened and aggrieved by Mary’s sudden death. I’m sure she was trying to be a peacemaker when she died.

Mary was a humble person as well as kind, considerate and generous with her time. She should not be forgotten nor overlooked - a saint during our modern times.

La Reine class of 1970 graduated many outstanding women who have gone on to make this world a better place...Mary was a beautiful light. I believe God was with her as she faced this evil and together they did everything they could to prevent this tragedy.

I am praying for her family, friends, and the world ~ that the darkness will not overcome us. May Mary's light shine on through us.

To every one who knew and loved Mary. I remember so well the wonderful Christmas parties at Mary's home and how she made every one part of the festivities. My late husband Barry and I enjoyed knowing Mary and her loving family. The sisters took turns to have a Christmas party at their homes but Mary was always there to contribute in some way. She was a great cook. I can't believe some one would take this precious life and that of the other two gentlemen. Mary dedicated her life to saving others and she was always there to put out her hand to those who needed help. I can not be there on Saturday but, I will think of Mary and her family as they mourn her loss. I pray God will guide you through each day and you will have the strength to repair the terrible loss of such a beautiful woman. I am proud to have known Mary. In memory of my friend Mary Ann Olson.
